2007 Deer Hunt - BUCKS! PDF Print E-mail

Kruep's Buck's

2007 was a good year for South East Kansas Deer hunting, during rifle season.

Kansas Rifle season was not going to be great, or so I thought after scouting 2 weeks prior, with my son, down in Coffeyville, Kansas.

As most of us in Kanas know, that part of the state was hit this past summer with a 500 year flood.  I had left a stand in the tree from 2006 season and only wandered if it would still be there.  Kash and I found the tree only to our amazement that it had all kinds of weeds and mud covering it!  yep.... the water was over 16 foot deep in our prime hunting area.

During the 2 day scouting trip we saw some sign that deer were back in the area, but only caught a glimps of 2 deer the whole time.

Kurt got his buck opening morning just 5 minutes after climbing into his stand.

Dad got his drop tine buck (picture to follow)  on the 2nd day, mid morning on a stalk hunt.

I got my deer on Friday afternoon around 4:45pm.
