He's done it again!

TBFKS (The Bass Federation of Kansas) 2009 State Team Results are in! 

Kerry Kruep of Paola, Kansas has earned his 17 State Team Title. 

Time was short, I was unable to pratice and relied on "gut" instinct for this event.  It appeared to work out, I would like to have done better, knowing Grand Lake can produce some very large fish and big stringers, I would never imagined that the total weight of 15.94 pounds would have gotten me on the team.

We fished 3 - 5 hour sessions, with a 3 fish limt per angler

 Saturday 6:30 am to 11:30 am - I caught 3 fish on white 1/4 oz Chatter Buzz, Buzz Bait along a rocky flat bank with some bait fish present, I had 15 pound Big Game Green line (my favorite) with my Fenwick Techna AV Medium action rod, and 6.4:1 Revo Reel!

Saturday 3pm to 8 pm - I caught 3 fish but had to really work for them, the sun was still up and Buzz bait was not going to work until the last hour or so I figured.  I chose to fish the mid lake area, and caught all 3 keepers on shallow banks with bait fish and laydowns.  Key lure, TCC Custom Crank, W2 series in the crazy horse patter and a custom, hand painted white Mann's Mid Minus one, with a touch of Red on the head of the bait.  Rod, Reel and Line same as buzz bait!

Sunday 6:30 am to 11:30pm - I caught 3 fish in the first 15 minutes or so, all on the same bank from the morning before, using the same gear.
